Navarran Oak

This is an interesting article. Not so much for the wine, though I’m sure it’s lovely, but because they are ageing it in Navarran Oak.

I’ve never heard of Navarran Oak before. It’s always French or American oak or a mixture of the two. I wonder what flavour you get from Navarran oak?

It seems they only have the one barrel, so unless I travel there I’m unlikely to find out. Shame because now I really want to know. I like the idea of Spanish wines aged in Spanish oak. Let’s hope we see more of this.
