The Many Names of Tempranillo

Yesterday we wrote up a wine tasting of a Tinto Fino wine from Ribera del Duero and we mentioned that the Tinto Fino grape variety is in fact the same as Tempranillo. some Spanish experts argue that they are clones of Tempranillo and there are slight differences. I don’t know how true that is as most of the world accepts them as the same grape with different regional names.

In fact Tempranillo has several names around the world. Check out the article below by vinepair.com which lists seven additional names that Tempranillo comes under.

Regardless of what it’s called it’s still a delicious grape variety for red wine production.
