The third and final red wine from the Bodega Madrid Romero wine tasting at Madrid & Darracott. This time A wine made purely from the Monastrell grape and aged for 18 months in French oak barrels.
This was the favourite for the red wine drinkers in the group.
A surprisingly light purple red but with a good nose of berries, wood and some liquorice. A dry wine with high tannins and medium acidity, it was beyond my tastebuds. But the rest of the group were enthusiastic about its full body and warmth, describing it as oaky similar to scotch whiskey barrels with some vanilla and the berries underneath.
