The third wine at the Eat Out Madrid wine tasting. Another offering from Bodega Lopez de Heredia.. Their red wine Reserva this time. Made from a blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, Garnacha and Mazuelo grapes this wine is matured in french oak barrels for 6 years then another 6 plus years in the bottle.
it is a light ruby red colour with a fruitier scent than the last one of medium light intensity. Think sweeter dried berries. Less of the wood tones though. The tasting notes mention vanilla but it was subtle.
A dry wine with a lightly lingering finish and medium body. Both the tannins and some acidity were present giving it the usual sourness for me, but this wine had more fresh berry fruit flavour to balance it out.
