The second wine of the Bodega Albae wine tasting at TomeVinos Barrio Salamanca. This is the other white wine this time made from 100% Chardonnay.
A light lemon green colour, it has a medium nose that reminds me of the pear drop sweets. So think sweet pear, slightly tropical. Very little acidity in the scent which is unusual for a Chardonnay.
This is a dry white with medium acidity and body and a good finish. There is citrus that you expect from a Chardonnay but it does taste of pear drop sweets. This is great because I love pear drops.
Not a complicated wine but such a nice flavour and smooth in the mouth. Refreshing and different from most Spanish white wines. I really liked it and bought a bottle to take home.
The representative from the bodega talked of white peach flavours. I personally think people are buying different peaches to me. However I do understand what he means as it comes across as a bit more tropical than most chardonnays. Like I said more like a pear sweet rather than a fresh pear.
