The second red wine of the Bodega Albae wine tasting at TomeVinos Barrio Salamanca. This time made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and matured in French oak barrels for 6 months.
A medium purple colour with a light scent of berries and some wood.
Interestingly it has lower tannins than the Merlot. Usually it’s the other way round. In fact this red wine has hardly any of the mouth drying effect you get from tannins. Apparently this is deliberate as the bodega wanted to make a young style wine.
It is a dry wine with some acidity, a light body and a bit of a finish. I can definitely taste the mixed berries in this wine and the hint of wood. Not particularly complex but a light easy wine to drink.
