According to their website the 2010 Gran Reserva 904 was one of their best vintages this century, which makes me wonder why they were serving us the 2009. They also have another 2005 Gran Reserva 890 that was 23€ for just a taster glass. We didn’t try that one as it was above our price range.
This wine has spent 4 years in 4 year old American oak barrels and tyen a further 4-5 years in the bottle.
It has a medium intensity Purple colour with a noticeable scent fruiy red and black berries, leather, veg.
A dry wine with medium body and a medium to long finish. The tannins and acidity are nicely balanced, so that I am able appreciate the fruit and leather flavours.
On the whole a good wine.
