The final wine from the Spring Wine Tasting by colourfulwines.com hosted at Tomevinos.com Barrio Salamanca. This is another Red Wine but this time from the South East of Mallorca. It is made from a blend of the island’s local grape varieties Callet, Mantonegro and Fogoneu and aged for just over one year in a combination of 80% French and 20% American oak barrels.
It has a very pale purple colour with a light to medium scent of red berries plus an earthy smell like wet trees/forest.
A dry wine with light body and low tannins. This wine has a definite fruit flavour. The red berries are there. Almost I can distinguish individual berry flavours, which is unusual for me. Mainly raspberry and a bit of blackberry.
Another easy to drink light red wine with a good fruit led flavour.
For a hot summer’s day I would enjoy this wine.
