The third wine from the Tobelos Bodega wine tasting at vinopremier.com this time made from 100% Garnacha grapes. It is fermented in concrete eggs and then matured for 14 months in American and French second use 500l oak barrels.
It’s good to be able to compare a pure Garnacha Crianza and a pure Tempranillo Crianza from the same bodega.
A pale purple in colour but slightly darker than the Tempranillo. This wine has a lighter scent but it’s very fruity. Bursting with red fruit.
A dry wine with medium low tannins, medium low acidity, more body and more finish than the previous wine but still on the light side.
Good red berry flavour. This is a fun fruity red wine and I prefer it to the Tempranillo. Not necessarily because it is a better wine but because I prefer the fruitiness of the Garnacha grape variety.
