The third wine from the Cuatro Rayas wine tasting at vinopremier.com. Something a little different this time, a red Tempranillo wine from the Rueda DO. I say different because Rueda is known for its white wines with Tempranillo reds more usually made in nearby Ribera del Duero. In fact it is so normal for most Wineries in this region to have two bodegas, one in Rueda making white wine and one in Ribera del Duero making red, that vinopremier automatically mislabelled this wine as a Ribera del Duero on the tasting menu.
This is a young, only 3 months in oak, organic wine made from 100% Tempranillo and uses no animal products.
It is a pale ruby/purple red colour with a light creamy scent with fruits of the forest underneath.
A dry, light bodied wine with medium low tannins and acidity. It has the usual Tempranillo ripe berry flavours with some spice. An uncomplicated easy to drink wine.
