Named after the winery’s former president, this is one of Bodega Cuatro Rayas’ most select wines. It was a surprise addition to the tasting at vinopremier.com.
100% Verdejo. It is made from the best grapes from Cuatro Rayas’ oldest vines (over 100 years of age) and spends 8 months maturing in french oak. It should also have at least 3-4 years in the bottle, so we were trying it a bit early. Having said that it was a lovely wine even without the full ageing.
A pale to medium yellow colour with a nice creamy scent. It has lovely body for a white and a good lingering finish. Nice balanced medium plus acidity and a lovely creamy flavour and texture, but still refreshing and dry.
I loved this wine, it was my favourite of the night.
