In answer to my question of the other day, ‘does fining effect the taste of wine?’, the short answer is as always: it depends. Basically it’s mainly to leave a nice clear appearance, but different fining agents can also affect the tannins and acidity of the wine. As you can see from the photo one of the main fining agents used in red wine is egg white, hence why it’s not Vegan.
