The Christmas Wine Tasting at the Lion and Lamb started with a little Prosecco aperitif. Well I say little but I actually had 3 glasses and had to give myself a stern talking to in order to slow down or there was no way I’d last the night.
This organic and apparently vegan bubbly is made from Glera grapes grown in Prosecco DOC region which is located in the Treviso region in North East Italy just above Venice.
It was too dark in the pub to see the colour of this wine, though according to the notes it’s a pale straw. It did have good sharp bubbles, which is not always the case with a Prosecco. A light wine with some nicely blended acidity and a crisp clean finish. Definite floral notes to the flavour with some lychee, but fairly low key leavimg this as a nice dry Prosecco which I prefer.
Yum Yum we’re off to a good start.
