The first wine at the Volcanic Experience winetasting at VinoPremier featuring wines from the Tajinaste Viñedos y Bodega in Tenerife. This winery produces a range of wines from lesser known local grape varieties cultivated in the volcanic soil of the Canary Islands.
This dry white is made from 90% Listan blanco (otherwise known as Palomino Fino) and 10% Albillo Criollo and has spent 3 months maturing in oak barrels.
It has a pale straw colour and a medium intense smoky scent similar to that of burnt match. Underneath is a hint of sweet fruits slightly tropical.
Dry with medium to high acidity, light body and a light finish. A refreshing wine. Not particularly heavy on flavour. The fruit is there but this has been blended to be light and airy. Perhaps a bit mineral some citrus but not lemon.
I liked this wine. Good hot weather wine.
