I quite like the Veuve Cliquot yellow label so was expecting their rose to be my favourite. However it wasn’t despite the fact it had some toasty tones to it, which I usually look for in champagne. Turns out when it’s pink I expect berries and I’m not happy if they’re not there.
Don’t get me wrong this salmon coloured champagne had strawberry flavour to it, along with the hint of yeast, but incredibly light. It was a very clean easy to drink champagne.
It grew on me, and I could easily glue this champagne down, but the hints of flavour left me feeling slightly cheated.
