The second wine in my quarantine box and this one was much more the thing. A red wine from the Mendoza region of Argentina made with 100% Malbec and aged in French oak for 12 months. It is delicious.
I have drunk the Trivento Reserva before as it is a favourite of my Dad’s and is a nice fruity wine. The Golden Reserva has spent longer on oak and has much more oomph to it but still retains it fruitiness which makes it the perfect wine for me.
In colour it is a dark purple and It has a strong scent which hits your nose well before it gets anywhere near the rim of the glass. Earthy tones with black fruits and berries.
It delivers on flavour of ripe forest berries (blackberries, raspberries and blueberries) with strong earthiness and a hint of spice in the finish.
Good body this wine fills the mouth nicely, a lengthy finish and wonderfully balanced tannins and acidity. In fact the flavours and texture of this wine blend really well together.
I will definitely be buying more of this wine
