I have published articles about this grape variety, that has red flesh, previously but under its local name of Alicante Bouschet. I read an article by wine folly where it states ‘Lovers of rich, fruit-forward reds like Shiraz, Zinfandel, and Cabernet Sauvignon take note: Alicante Bouschet is quite the find!’
Well I adore fruit forward reds so I took note, but it was nearly two years before I managed to try one. As promised it was bursting with fruit and this was a Syrah/Merlot/Garnacha Tintorera blend. I have yet to try a 100% Garnacha Tintorera wine. Hopefully it won’t be another two years before I get my hands one.
