The Galicia region of Spain is famous for its white wines. For most people this means a crisp Albariño from the Rias Baix D.O. Whilst I agree this is a lovely wine it is only one of four wine denominations in Galicia all of whom produce delicious whites.
The oldest denominación de origin in Galicia is in fact the Ribeiro D.O. Inland from it’s more famous cousin Ribeiro is known primarily for white wine blends of the grapes Treixadura and Loureira, though it also has Albariño and Godello blends.
If you’re a white wine drinker then this is a D.O. of Spain that you need to discover.
