Based at the edge of the Llabera National Park this Tarragona region is not be as well known as it’s neighbour Montsant which means you can pick up some great reds that rival Momtsant but cost a lot less.
Blended from four of the greatest red wine grape varieties (Garnacha, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo) this wine is matured in steel bats and left on the lees for 3-5 months.
It has the classic Spanish purple colouring of medium hue and a lovely scent of cherries, spice and nutmeg.
A dry, light wine with a lingering finish. Light tannins, medium acidity. The red berry and spice flavours come through nicely.
Not a bad wine. I bought a bottle of the 2019 and enjoyed that too.
